Left Behind

 Left Behind addresses the alarming statistics of the 5100 orphans left behind due to the detainment and deportation practices of the USA government in 2011 with these numbers predicted to increase dramatically in the next five years. The beads represented in the strand of prayer beads in exhibit consist of poems from multiple poets that address the issues on the border and the individual beads shown in the photographs, held in the hands of a child, represent the statistics from a report done by Applied Research Center.
